Errani and Vinci, who were crowned champions at Wimbledon, had an easy matchup against the duo of Kimiko Date-Krumm and Andrea Hlavackova in an easy two-set win 6-3 6-2.
Hsieh and Peng, who won the doubles championship at the French Open, faced a stiff challenge on the second set against the pair of Gabrine Muguruza and Carla Suarez Navarro. The Chinese duo nonetheless came out on top 6-3, 7(7)-6(2).
Errani and Vinci will now play the team of Martina Hingis and Flavia Penetta in the quarterfinals.
Hingis, 33, returned early this year, partnering with Sabine Lisicki at the Indian Wells Masters. The team exited early in the first round after losing to Ashleigh Barty and Casey Dellacqua.
Hingis and Lisicki later competed at the Sony Open Tennis in Miami eventually winning the tournament against Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina.
The tandem of Makarova and Vesnina will face Hsieh and Peng in the quarterfinals.
Chinese Taipei has some unsung heroes in the making as the unseeded pair of sisters Chan Hao-ching and Chan Yung-jan also reached the quarterfinals after eliminating third seeds Kveta Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik in a three-set thriller 2-6, 6-2, 10-7.
The Chinese Taipei duo will face the Netherlands-Czech Republic team of Michaella Krajicek and Barbora Zahlavova-Strycova.
