Arsenal lifted the first trophy of the English Football season on Sunday, when they brushed off Premiere League Champions Chelsea at the Wembley Stadium. The FA Community Shield was won through a single goal by Arsenal's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Former Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech suited up for the Gunners for the first time since being transferred. He had to defend the goal in front of the Chelsea supporters in the first half. According to a report by The FA, he was greeted by gratitude and adulation by the fans that cheered for him over the span of 11 years. The Community shield was his first chance to debut in a competitive match against his former team.

In the end, Cech was instrumental in dealing the Chelsea fans with their first heartbreak of the season. He kept a clean sheet throughout the match for Arsenal. That meant that the lone goal on the 24th minute scored by Oxlade-Chamberlain was enough to hand Arsenal the victory.
According to CNN, the 2015 Community Shield is Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger's first victory against Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho in their last 14 meetings. Mourinho looked relaxed and indifferent throughout the match. He stood on the sidelines wearing a casual jersey as if he was attending a training session. Wenger looked sharp and ready for business in his usual coat and tie. Despite looking unaffected, Mourinho apparently believes that his side should have won the match.
"We were the best team. We had more initiative, we controlled the game by having ball possession. Arsenal defended with 10 players, they put everybody in front of their own line and they had good organization, congratulations to them," he reportedly said to BT Sport after the match.
The FA published excerpts from the interview where Mourinho spoke about the loss and his rival. He also spoke about the English Premier League and said that their title defense will be difficult. "The way other teams are spending, they have big power in the hands while we are the same as last season. And with that we are going to try," he concluded.
