Rafael Nadal has moved one spot up to the ninth place in the latest Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) World Rankings after claiming his second title at the Hamburg Rothenbaum event, his third for the season.

Nadal defeated Italy's Fabio Fognini on Sunday's final 7-5 7-5 at the Bet-at-Home Open. The victory awarded Nadal 500 points, his best win this season after previously claiming titles at ATP World Tour 250 events. The Spanish tennis star now has 3,410 points moving up past Canada's Milos Raonic, formerly at eighth spot, with 3,400 points as seen in the latest world rankings released by ATP on Monday.

After winning the claycourt title in Hamburg, Nadal has earned a bit of confidence towards the second half of the season. It is no secret that Nadal had been reeling from a series of early exits in minor as well as major tournaments, which include his second-round exit to unseeded Dustin Brown at the 2015 Wimbledon Championships.

Speaking after his finals match as reported by ATPWorldTour.com, Nadal admitted that he knew he was going to have a tough match against Fognini after the Italian beat him twice in their last two encounters. However, he said that he was determined not to lose again to the Italian for the third time in a row. He fought hard and took every opportunity to win the title. Nadal also won the title in Hamburg in 2007.

Meanwhile, other non-movers in the latest world rankings released by ATP on Aug. 3 include sensational Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic with 13,845 points. Roger Federer and Andy Murray also retained their places in the second and third spots with 9,665 and 7,840, respectively.

Djokovic and Federer are currently taking time off playing tournaments following their finale blockbuster showdown at the All England Club. The Swiss 17-time grand slam champion pulled out of the 2015 Rogers Cup in Montreal because he wants to focus on the last grand slam event of the 2015 tennis season at Flushing Meadows. Two-time grand slam champion Murray, on the other hand, is currently playing at the 2015 ATP Citi Open in Washington.

French Open champion Stan Wawrinka sits at the fourth place with 5,790 points. Japan's Kei Nishikori is at the fifth spot with 5,525 points.
