According to IBN Live, technology maestro Apple and automobile manufacturing leader BMW are likely to rekindle their courtship, exploring possible chances of working together on upcoming projects. The rumors started to do the rounds after the executives of Apple were spotted at the BMW headquarters, supposedly on an exploratory visit. This is not the only visit that is sparking the rumors. Apparently last year, Apple CEO Tim Cook also visited the BMW offices; however, it is still too early to comment on the developments of the meeting.

The report indicates that Apple executives checked out the manufacturing facility at BMW. Additionally, Apple used the opportunity to question BMW board members about the manufacturing process, in order to get their hands on maximum details. When the meeting ended, the conclusion was not clear because Apple said that it was keen to explore the concept entirely on its own and get into manufacturing a car.

BMW, on the pther hand, also preferred to maintain as much confidentiality as possible, saying that it was still too early to trust partners or share details about the detailed process that it uses.

The report also quotes a BMW source on condition of anonymity saying that Apple appreciated German car makers manufacturing process because they believed in starting afresh, instead of sticking to the same old way of doing things.

It can be noted that in 1979, Steve Jobs had also attempted something similar with Apple and hit headlines when he visited the Xerox's Palo Alto Research Center, where the first mouse-driven graphical user interface and bit-mapped graphics were created. Soon after, he gave the world its first MACINTOSH. Another report on Engadget also confirms the development, saying that the possibility of collaboration may go well beyond the currently existing variety of infotainment systems.
