Rock star couple Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale is ending their 20 years of togetherness and 13 years of marriage in a divorce. The couple confirmed the break-up in statement.
The two met in 1995 when their bands were on tour; Rossdale was with the band "Bush" while Stefani was with "No Doubt." They started dating and after six years decided to get married in 2002. The ex-couple has three sons nine-year-old Kingston, seven-year-old Zuma, and 17-month old Apollo.

"While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment," Stefani, 45 and Rossdale, 49 wrote in a statement released to People.
They also asked that their privacy be respected during this time, the statement added.
In a September 2014 interview, Rossdale even talked about a seemingly perfect family set-up, "It's amazing. It's amazing. She's an incredible mom and it's a really good setup. It's a challenge to give everything the time it deserves but somehow I think we more or less make it," he told CBS News.
Stefani filed her divorce petition on Monday and her ex-husband filed his shortly after. Stefani cited "irreconcilable differences" as the main reason for the break-up and is seeking for joint custody of their sons, E! News reported.
Fans may not have expected this to happen to one of Hollywood's favorite couples. Earlier this year, Stefani told Cosmopolitan Magazine where she was the magazine's March cover about having a strong marriage and making sure she and her husband have their own time to be themselves and have their "own individuality."
"We go through so much together-it's a miracle that we could stay together this long. [Gavin's] on a short tour right now, and he wrote me the sweetest note this morning. It's good to have those days when we both do our own things. I think that's what keeps relationships going," she shared in an interview with Cosmopolitan.com.
Their divorce announcement comes on the heels of other highly-publicized split-ups over the past months, including that of Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck.
