Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronald has just given his agent an island in Greece. The Portuguese captain gave the extravagant gift to Jorge Mendes after he stood as the best man at the latter's wedding ceremony which took place last Sunday in Porto.

According to Spanish website Mundo Deportivo, the 49-year-old Mendes married his longtime partner Sandra Barbosa in the exclusive affluent neighborhood of Foz Do Douro in Portugal.  The ceremony took place at the Sao Joao Baptista church and was attended by about 400 guests.

The same report states that Cristiano attended the wedding accompanied by his Real Madrid teammates James Rodriguez, Pepe and Fabio Coentrao. All four are listed as some of Mendes' high profile clients.

Mendes is considered as a "super agent" in the football world and he has brokered some of the biggest transfer deals in recent history. Ronaldo is obviously one happy client and he has paid back his agent by gifting him with the extravagant piece of land.

According to a report by the Daily Mail, Mendes was instrumental in Ronaldo's move from Lisbon to Manchester United back in 2003. The English club paid £12 million to acquire the forward's services back then. Six years later, Mendes brokered an £80 million deal to bring Ronaldo to Spanish giants Real Madrid. With his agent's help and his stunning ability on the pitch, Ronaldo has become one of the highest earning athletes across the globe.

Listed among Mendes' exclusive clientele are some of the biggest names in football. He has facilitated deals for high profile players like Deco, Radamel Falcao, Sergio Aguero, Angel di Maria and Nani among others. He also represented "The Special One," Jose Mourinho, when he struck deals between Inter Milan, Chelsea and Real Madrid.  Some of his celebrity clients were in attendance at the wedding along with some team principals and managers that he has worked with over the years.

The Mirror has conducted some research into Greek islands that are available for sale. The report states that they are currently going for anywhere between €3 million to €50 million. While Cristiano can easily afford any of them, Mendes could have bought one for himself too. The agent enjoys a cut from each of the deals he closes and BBC reports that he is currently listed as one of the wealthiest men in Portugal with a net worth of over €100 million.
