The 56-year old actress stated that she and her former husband, singer-actor Don Johnson, wouldn't be making it to the screening. The actress has claimed that her daughter, Dakota Johnson, told them not to watch the film.
"Dakota was like, 'You guys cannot come. There's no way.' So we're not going," Melanie Griffith shared.
The actress' daughter will be taking on the role of the leading lady in the movie which was based on the best-selling novel by E.L. James that goes with the same title.
The character Dakota Johnson will be translating is that of Anastasia Steele who gets caught in an intense and highly-sexual relationship with a business tycoon named Christian Grey, to be played by Jamie Dornan.
She has also shared that she has been visiting the set of her daughter's new movie whenever they are just filming the 'normal stuff'. She has claimed to have seen the 'Room of Pain,' referring to a locale in the sadomasochistic movie.
Although Melanie Griffith was immensely proud of her daughter, the actress claimed that she is focusing on something else especially after her split with her husband of 18 years, 'Zorro' actor Antonio Banderas. The actress filed a divorce against the actor last June.
The actress spilled her future plans, saying that she will be doing 'Pippin' on Broadway in January this coming 2015.
On the other hand, Don Johnson has also made comments regarding Dakota Johnson's role in '50 Shades of Grey'. The actor and father of the young actress said that he trusts that Dakota will be able to portray the character of Anastasia in the movie.
'50 Shades of Grey' is set to be released in theatres in February 2015.
