It's been two years since her divorce from Tom Cruise, and Katie Holmes has never looked back.
"I just approach life one day at a time. I'm excited about where I am right now," she shared, adding "I am just excited about the future."
The actress certainly has something to be excited about. She has a new role in the film adaptation of the Lois Lowry Newberry Award-winning sci-fi classic, "The Giver".

Taylor Swift, Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges also star in the movie.
Rumor has it that the actress has also found new love in "The Giver" co-star Alexander Skarsgard.
Holmes and Skarsgard of "True Blood" fame were said to have developed feelings for each other while shooting "The Giver" in South Africa last year. A source says that the two have extended their romance to the States and are still seeing each other.
According to an insider, "Their flirtation was one of the worst kept secrets on set. Nobody is surprised that they've been spending time together. They enjoy each other's company."
Holmes shared with Matt Lauer on the "Today" show that she tackled her new movie role on "The Giver" like a mother in pain when her child leaves home. "There's a loss," she shared.
The 35-year old actress plays mother to the flick's main character played by Brenton Thwaites.
Of course, Holmes pulls inspiration from her real life role as mother to Suri, her child with Cruise.
Holmes, who shot to fame with the 90s teen drama "Dawson's Creek", shared that she tries her very best to raise Suri as a single mom, but that she fortunately has a family that taught her how to be a good mother to her daughter.
"I try to do what they did for me for my little one," she shared.
Holmes shared that she is working on returning to TV as well.
