According to NDTV Gadgets, Microsoft has confirmed the acquisition of Incent Games, a Texas-based firm that specialises in providing the online portal of Fantasy Sales Team. This is a unique gaming portal that helps sales teams improve their performance and learn the nuances of selling better, via a fun-filled and interactive platform.
The report also goes on to explain that the portal allows managers to boost their sales figures using sports-like games to compete with their other team members. While announcing the acquisition on Microsoft blog, Bob Stutz, Corporate Vice President, said that the online portal was a modern reinterpretation of the classic sales model wherein those who made the maximum deals are given an incentive.
Bob went on to praise the platform and added that this was an excellent portal that helps in increasing a team's overall productivity and ability to implement processes, as well to help achieve greater results. The strategy of the game keeps the players engaged and also ensures that they are more interested in each other's success promoting healthy and effective competition.
Another report on Tech Crunch explained the functionality of the product in greater depth, saying that it allowed the organization to assign individual player positions to their sales reps. As the sales reps win the games, the scores are integrated to their respective CRM's as well. The game will be integrated with Microsoft's Customer Relationship Management software. However, Microsoft is also developing an alternative version where the scores will be registered directly in the excel sheet. Even non sales teams will be included in this activity.
