"After the events of Outlander season 1, the series' beloved couple will be moving from Scotland to Paris, France to start a new life," said the report.
Season one finale revealed that Claire was pregnant with Jamie's child and this would mean that she would have to confront her husband Frank Randall. She would also need to face and come into terms with her parents death. Season two will be more focused on Claire and her pregnancy since Jamie would still need to deal with his traumas.
Caitriona Balfe, the actress playing Claire revealed that the couple might grow a bit distant towards each other in the next season which might lead to her dealing with the pregnancy alone.
In another report by Latin Post, the cast and crew also admitted that the change of locations from Scotland to France proved to be a challenging one. Showrunner Ron Moore said that they felt a bit discomfort with the transition process.
"We felt a little bit of discomfort in the transition, because we were so used to playing in this gritty Scottish mud," said Moore. "Everything was very muted with the wools. Now all of a sudden we're in these luxurious apartments and grand houses."
"We're going to Prague for the streets of Paris, but we're still doing most of the interiors on our soundstages. There are other locations in Scotland we'll use, like exterior home gardens. And there are some palaces in England that will be stand-ins for Versailles," the director added.
Meanwhile, Franchise Herald revealed the new cast members that will be joining the show. Rosie Day will play as Mary Hawkins, Andrew Gower as Prince Charles, Edward Stuart and Roman Berrux as Fergus.
