Taylor Swift slammed Spotify once again and revealed why she wrote them a letter.
For the Vanity Fair September issue where she is the cover, Taylor Swift opened up about how she stood against a giant company like Apple.
According to an article by Daily Mail, the pop singer initially pulled out her music from Spotify after citing that the app does not pay the artists for their initial three-month trial period. After writing an open letter which she claimed she wrote at four in the morning, Apple changed their mind and then Swift allowed them to use her music.

"Apple treated me like I was a voice of a creative community that they actually cared about. And I found it really ironic that the multi-billion-dollar company reacted to criticism with humility, and the start-up with no cash flow reacted to criticism like a corporate machine," Swift said dissing Apple's rival Spotify.
In an article by Fortune, Taylor admitted to writing her open letter at four in the morning just like how she did with some of her songs.
"I wrote the letter at around four A.M. Sometimes I'll wake up in the middle of the night and I'll write a song and I can't sleep until I finish it, and it was like that with the letter," she said.
She also admitted to reading it to her mother before publishing it. She also sought the help of a friend who sent her a screenshot of Apple's terms and agreement with their music contract.
In her interview with Vanity Fair, Swift said that she felt nervous about writing the letter and was worried that people might see her as someone who "just whines and rants about this thing that no one else is really ranting about."
In her latest feature, Taylor also spoke about her inspirations and what else she wants to be and achieve in the future. The singer then spoke openly about her admiration for Oprah and Angelina Jolie.
"If you look at Oprah, she's made so many people happy over the years. She's made so much money, but she's given so much of it away. Same thing with Angelina Jolie. She's been so productive, but she's used that position to better other people's lives, and I think that's where I'd want to be," Swift said.
