Police confirm that the six-month old baby was killed in the stabbing incident at a Folsom home on Thursday.
The baby boy was said to have died after arriving at a nearby hospital. The woman carrying the infant remains to be in a critical condition.
According to witnesses, they saw that the man and woman were arguing prior to the incident. The neighbors then grew alarmed when they saw the man wielding a knife and threatening the woman and the baby.

"We received multiple calls of a stabbing that was in progress," Officer Andrew Bates, Folsom police spokesman.
Following the 911 calls they received from witnesses, the police rushed to the scene of the crime, which was along Montrose Drive at around 2:30 in the afternoon.
Reports reveal that the man, who was said to be in 20s, attempted to confront the officers with his knife. It was in that attempt that an officer fired a single round at him.
"We had officers respond. The first officer to arrive confronted a single subject who was armed with a large knife. That officer shot the subject," he shared.
Bates divulged that the man "did struggle and fight with officers until they were able to get him into custody."
The shot fired reportedly killed the suspect.
"We came outside and saw all the commotion, them trying to resuscitate the guy," neighbor Joshua Smith described.
Initial investigations showed that the victims of the stabbing incident were the suspect's own aunt and her six-month old baby.
One woman was found covered in blood. She was immediately taken into police custody for further questioning.
"We're pouring out all of our resources into finding out what happened, (and) getting witnesses interviewed," Bates disclosed.
"We'll piece it back together as we continue with the investigation," he further stated.
