Hybrid Autofocus enables Xperia M5 to capture still and moving subjects by using Phase Detection Autofocus for quick response and Contrast Detection Autofocus for precision. The smartphone also features Clear Image Zoom to get close on the subject without losing sharpness when zooming up to five times. Other camera features include 4K Video Recording, HDR mode and several camera apps such as Timeshift Burst and Augmented Reality. For the front camera, Xperia M5 has 13 MP Exmor RS lens capable of HDR mode and camera apps. Similar to the rear camera, the front lens can also use Timeshift Video recording capturing clips in 120 frames per second with video editor to select which parts should have slow-motion effect.
