Amid the blockbuster success of Hollywood star Tom Cruise's action film "Mission: Impossible- Rogue Nation," critics are condemning him for allegedly not seeing his daughter Suri for two years now.

In a report by Hollywood Life, sources say the reason why Cruise has avoided his only daughter with actress Katie Holmes was because of Scientology.

Over the year, Cruise has been entangled in news and revelations about what some say is a cult-like church of Scientology and its celebrity followers. A documentary film entitled "Going Clear" was even created to reveal its secrets. Cruise is said to be one of its most devout followers.

While promoting his recent "Mission: Impossible" film in New York City, sources say Cruise was only a few blocks away from Suri but did not bother to see her, In Touch reported.

"It's possible Tom won't see Suri because he thinks Katie and her family are speaking negatively about him and Scientology," former Scientologist Marc Headley told the news site.

People close to Cruise and Suri feel sad about what has been happening between the father and daughter, "Tom and Suri had a wonderful bond at one time. Suri wants to see her father, but Tom still isn't seeing her. It's not going to happen and it's heartbreaking," a friend of Cruise revealed to the site.

Meanwhile, while fans and critics alike wonder why Cruise has not talked about his Scientology issues and that of not seeing Suri, an insider revealed to The Wrap that Cruise's camp has forbidden the media from making questions relating to these issues.

A "no personal questions" caveat has been enforced by his camp for the star, the source pointed out.

In other news, Cruise ranked No. 6 in the recent Forbes list of the "World's Highest-Paid Actors of 2015." Mainly due to the blockbuster performance of his "Mission: Impossible" movies whom is also the producer, Cruise raked in $40 Million. Actor Robert Downey, Jr. topped the list for a third year in a row making a whopping $80 Million.
