Moto X Play can endure moderate exposure to water such as accidental spills and light rain because of its advanced nano-coating technology which acts water repellent. For the battery life, Motorola installed a 3630 mAh battery pack which can last up to 48 hours and can also be extended using the default power saving mode of Android Lollipop OS.

Powerful Main Camera

Its rear camera has 21 megapixels lens with f/2.0 aperture capable of 1080p high definition video recording, Burst mode, Night mode, Automatic HDR, drag to focus and exposure and slow motion video recording. The camera is aided by dual LED flash to ensure good lighting quality and various camera settings such as ISO control, white balance presets and exposure compensation.

Moto X Play sports a 5.5 inches of 1080p full HD display screen with 403 ppi pixel density to give good quality on images and videos. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protects the entire display screen using its atomic configuration to make the glass more durable offering retained strength after use, high resistance to scratch and sharp contact damage, and superior surface quality. Gorilla Glass 3 offers three times more damage resistance than the previous generation.

Performance And Storage

Motorola used a branded technology called Mobile Computing System on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, Adreno 405 graphics card and 2 GB of RAM to handle and run apps and games smoothly. It has an internal storage of up to 32 GB with an expansion slot supported a microSD card of up 128 GB in capacity plus additional free storage via cloud services such as Google Drive.

Pure Android Experience

Moto X Play runs the vanilla version of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS, providing a clutter-free system. Users can teach the device on how to function based on preference whether it is for work or gaming. All native apps are based from Google such as Google Now for Internet queries using voice, Google Drive for cloud storage, Google Keep to save notes and Project Volta for more accurate battery information. Also, the smartphone will receive automatic eligibility to Android M software update which will be released later this year.
