Five-time Grammy winner Mariah Carey received her star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Hordes of fans waited for Carey to arrive at Hollywood Boulevard to witness the singer cementing her iconic star among other famed names in Hollywood.

Carey was seen with her 4-year-old twins with ex Nick Cannon wearing a long, black sequined gown.  The pop diva sat next to her star along with her kids as photographers snapped away capturing the important moment. Record producer L.A. Reid and director Lee Daniels were also seen at the event.

"Really, you're melting my heart. You're making me cry. But I cannot thank you enough. This is a huge honor," Carey told the crowd of fans in a report by E! News.

During the ceremony, Daniels also confirmed that Carey will appear on the second season of the hit TV series "Empire," after the Oscar-nominated director was heard shouting out to the crowd, "Watch her on Empire, guys!"

In related news, over the week, a local Michigan woman sued "Empire" its directors and producers for $300 Million for what she alleges is copyright infringement, Chicago Tribune reported.

Sophia Eggleston accused the TV series of stealing a memoir of her own life which she earlier shared with writer Rita Grant Miller with the understanding she would pitch the story to the show's producers. But she was surprised to catch an episode of "Empire" and saw Loretha "Cookie" Lyon's character so much similar to her own life story.

"Empire" second season begins in September.

Meanwhile, Carey's new boyfriend James Packer is encouraging her to undergo a gastric bypass to ensure she keeps her weight in check, OK! reported. The couple has allegedly been seen constantly dining out and so her boyfriend suggests she undergo the bypass.
