While some Chinese stars are heading out to Korea in hopes of starting their solo career, it seems it is the opposite for Korean stars. Following in the footsteps of former EXO member Tao, Jessica of Girls' Generation is reportedly planning on a solo debut in China. How true are the reports?
For the first time since leaving Girls' Generation, Jessica updated her social media account, Weibo. On it, the songstress posted an update regarding her status with the Korean girl group and its agency, SM Entertainment. According to the Aug. 6 post, Jessica has officially parted ways with the Korean agency.

"Miss you guys too! Keep smiling," reads the post, along with a photo of a smiling Jessica. "SM Entertainment and I have officially parted ways. I will cherish the many years we spent and I wish SM the best of luck in all of its endeavors."
Regarding this post, SM Entertainment also confirmed the news via their representative. Jessica and SM Entertainment "decided to go separate ways for each other's progress." After the reports of Jessica's departure from Girls' Generation and SM Entertainment, rumors have flooded the web claiming she's planning a solo debut in China. This would not be the least surprising given Jessica had left the group in 2014 to pursue her career as a fashion designer.
According to the reports, Jessica wrapped up production on her album six months ago in Korea. The singer plans to release the album in China. However, the legal representative of the former Girls' Generation star has spoken up regarding the reports.
"The articles that claim that Jessica has finished recording an album are completely false," stated the representative, adding, "She still has no plans related to an album. She went to a friend's studio for fun, but there was absolutely no talk about an album."
While there might be no album in the works, the representative went on to add that Jessica has numerous projects, which include working on her fashion brand and commercials. Of course, Jessica still plans to pursue a solo singing career in the future. Fans of Jessica should sit back and wait for her album soon.
