HTC One M8 And HTC One M7 Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Software Update Status

HTC One M8 has been confirmed to receive the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update after HTC Vice President for Product Management in the United States Mo Versi announced the Android M eligibility of the smartphone. HTC One M7 may receive the new software since its Google Play Edition model has been updated this year.

According to the official website of HTC in the US, HTC One M8 reached the complete stage of Android Lollipop release along with HTC Eye Experience while HTC One M7 is still under the developmental stage of that feature. Based on an image uploaded by Android Central, Android 5.1 for HTC One M9 gained several improvements for data performance, call drop, battery life, temperature management and camera.

Android 5.1 Lollipop With HTC Eye Experience Camera Technology

HTC seems to include the Eye Experience camera technology on Android Lollipop eligible devices. It is a software innovation which improves sharing, creating and experiencing the camera application.

1.      Create stories by using selfie effects or enhance video calls with Face Tracking and screen sharing tools.

2.      Quick access to selfie captures by simply raising the phone and smiling in front of the camera or record videos using voice command.

3.      Use both front and rear cameras to capture images or record videos in two perspectives via Split Capture feature.

4.      Make a person the center of a photo using one of the cameras while the other captures the background. Crop-Me-In photo tool allows simultaneous captures of two perspectives then combine both in one image.

5.      Have fun in combining looks using Face Fusion feature.

Android 5.1 Lollipop provides several improvements such as notifications can be dismissed on the status bar, sub-menus for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on Quick Settings, LED works on all sound modes, more sound widget icons, additional animations to several areas of the user interface, prompt which SIM will be used for calls on dual-SIM smartphones, clearer method on using Screen Pinning, no more recurring apps which have been cleared and one swipe to unlock the lock screen while Quick Settings is pulled down.
