In its last press conference, Motorola revealed that it would soon be introducing Android smartphones which also included an updated Moto G, but gadget freaks across the world are keen to know when the company will update its Droid line devices, especially after it has been taken over by Lenovo last year.

According to IB Times, a certain Chinese source has revealed leaked images of what could be Motorola's new Droid phone. The leaked images only reveal the chassis and the back panel of the rumored device, giving ardent fans just a sneak peak. Based on the leaked images, it can be understood that the device is most likely to have a metal frame, which is quite similar to what the Moto X and Moto Style models have.

One could also see the wireless coil for charging the device, fuelling rumors that it will support the Qi wireless charging protocol, just like its predecessor the Droid Turbo does. Through the Qi interface, inductive electrical power transfer is possible for a distance up to 4 centimeters. The new Droid phone will support Turbo charging feature.

The back panel of the new Droid is expected to come with more customization options, giving the end user more choices. Another report on Christian Today says that the new phone could be out in market by October this year. The release date rumors started to float after the sightings at Costco. Additionally, the new Droid phone is expected to come with a powerful battery life that will ensure that the device last for hours.  The interesting slew of features indicates that the new Droid phone could well be the best Android that the market has seen so far.

Currently, the Droid Turbo is also an extremely popular phone in its category as it features a 5.2-inch Quad-HD display, a powerful quad-core processor with 3GB of RAM, a 20.7 megapixel camera, and a 3,900 mAh battery. The new handset is expected to be powered by an Octa core processor. As of now, there is no official confirmation or the release date of the new device.
