The Wimbledon ladies' doubles champions showed the crowd their winning form as they broke their opponents four times in the first set. But Hingis and Penetta got it going in the second set consistently hitting their services to send the match into a deciding set.
Errani and Vinci displayed their experience of playing together in the third set, romping off with the victory.
The Italians will now go up against the surprise Chinese Taipei duo of sisters Chan Hao-ching and Chan Yung-jan, who continued to impress the crowd after upsetting third seeds Czech Republic's Kveta Peschke and Slovenia's Katarina Srebotnik in the second round.
In their quarterfinals match against Michaella Krajicek and Barbora Zahlavova-Strycova, the Chan sisters were relentless in their services and volleys en route to an impressive 6-3, 6-3 victory.
The sisters likewise capitalized on the Krajicek-Strycova tandem unforced errors
The sisters also won the Aegon International at Eastbourne against the Hingis-Penetta duo last June.
In the other matches, the fourth-seeded team of Cara Black and Sania Mirza also advanced to the semis after beating the sixth-seeded duo of Raquel Kops-Jones and Abigail Spears 6-2 6-1.
Black and Mirza will face the winner of the matchup between second-ranked pair of Hsieh Su-wei-Peng Shuai and Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina.
