The incident that sparks the "Civil War" in Captain America 3 will reportedly be different from the comic book material. Will it also change the outcome?
The latest rumor about "Captain America 3: Civil War" revolves around which incident initiated the chain of events, which brought about the Sokovia Accords. The disagreement over this law divided the superheroes (and even the villains) and caused the monumental comic book event called "Civil War."

As stated in the Marvel synopsis, the world at large is already at odds with superheroes and their destructive activities after the incident in Sokovia (in "Avengers: Age of Ultron"). The synopsis states: "After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain."
According to a report from Heroic Hollywood, the " international incident" that sparks the war involves Crossbones, played by Frank Grillo. Crossbones was a former agent of SHIELD who was subsequently revealed to be working for HYDRA. In his pursuit for revenge on the Star-Spangled hero, he eventually seals his fate.
"The rumor is, according to trusted sources, the international incident in the film involving the Avengers that results in collateral damage involves Captain America and Scarlet Witch who are trying to apprehend Crossbones," as stated in Heroic Hollywood. "The only problem is that Crossbones is wearing a suicide vest full of nasty explosives. In order to protect the civilians on the ground, Captain America orders Scarlet Witch to levitate Crossbones above ground. She does and unfortunately is unable to contain the massive explosion that sets off near a populated building causing death and destruction."
With this development, the government, through an initiative supported by the heroes like Tony Stark was forced to take drastic action. This might comprise the provisions in the Sokovia accords. According to Cinema Blend, "Sokovia is the fictional Eastern European country where an entire city is levitated and then dropped and totally destroyed." The "Accords" was first mentioned in the end credits scene included in "Ant-Man," which featured Captain America and Falcon.
Due to limitations in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there are many differences between the comic book "Civil War" and its incarnation on screen. In the comic books, a significant turning point in the war was the death of Captain America due to Crossbones. If this rumor holds true, then does that mean Steve Rogers will make it through "Civil War" alive?
