Last month, another one of his movies hit the big screen entitled "Boulevard" where he plays a repressed homosexual.
The 63-year-old actor had battled depression and addiction for years and was found dead after he hung himself in his California home a year ago. His death had sparked discussions about suicide and mental illness.
Among one the Oscar winner's best films is playing an old nanny in the 1993 movie "Mrs. Doubtfire." In an interview with "Home Alone" director Chris Columbus, he told Entertainment Weekly that the prospect of a sequel to the movie had always been alive between him and Williams.
"It was something Robin and I always talked about," he told the entertainment site.
Columbus even revealed that they had been thinking of the best concept for the sequel for years and when they finally had an interesting idea they agreed to begin developing the script. But plans were cut short after Williams died.
Now, he says, the sequel will never happen because no actor would dare take the role, "Mrs. Doubtfire belonged only to Robin Williams," the report added.
Meanwhile, the William's wife and kids are still in dispute about the $100 million estate the actor left behind, according to Los Angeles Times.
Most of his assets will go to his children from his second wife Susan Schneider Williams and their two children Cody, 23, and Zelda, 25; and his son from his first wife Zachary, 31, the new site learned.
In June, the family had gone through negotiations and mediations to resolve their issues.
