After a special team owners meeting in Chicago this week, it seems to be getting clearer that of the three teams likely to move to Los Angeles next season, it is the Raiders who are more and more probable of leaving Oakland. The other two candidate teams are the St. Louis Rams and San Diego Chargers.

CBS SF Bay Area indicated that the Raiders and Chargers are proposing to construct and share a stadium in Carson City, a few miles south of downtown Los Angeles, while Rams' owner Stan Kroenke is reportedly planning to build a facility of their own in Inglewood City.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell disclosed that at least one team would relocate to L.A. perhaps before the 2016 season. New York Giants owner Steve Tisch also said that the possibility of having an L.A. team next year is "better than 50-50."

The bad news for Oakland fans, however, is the statement of executive vice president of NFL ventures and business operations Eric Grubman saying that there was "no viable proposal that's been made to the Raiders" to remain in Oakland, as per USA Today.

St. Louis has a task force to ensure that the Rams will stay in their place while San Diego also has its own group to persuade the Chargers not to leave their city. Oakland has none and it is expected that no official assembly or party is going to be gathered soon to defend the city.

Grubman also said that there had been significant progress in the part of San Diego to keep their team but that there are still levels of risks to surmount to keep the Chargers there. Back at St. Louis, the executive was also optimistic about the chances of the Rams staying but would not elaborate further.

Meanwhile, the NFL's official website reported that Kroenke made an "impassioned and powerful speech" during the meeting with regards to his desire to move to L.A.

It is expected that Goodell and the NFL will arrive at a decision before Super Bowl 50 on which one or two among the three teams will transfer to Los Angeles before the start of the 2016 season.

Goodell reminded the team owners that only a maximum of two organizations are going to be allowed to leave their respective locations so any team should not expect their proposal to relocate to be automatically granted once they have submitted it.
