"The Celebrity Apprentice" is returning in future seasons but definitely not with presidential candidate Donald Trump after NBC officially let him go.

"Absolutely not," was the answer of NBC Chairman Bob Greenblatt when asked whether fans can still expect Trump to be back and host the reality TV show, Fox News reported.

There is no reason why "The Celebrity Apprentice" cannot make a comeback in the future since a lot of other people have expressed their willingness and interest to replace the business mogul as host, Greenblatt told the news site. NBC is even open to having a woman host, he added.

After Trump made allegedly derogatory remarks about Mexicans being "rapists" and bringing in crime to the United States, NBC decided to cut its ties with the presidential hopeful. It even cancelled the supposed airing of the Miss USA pageant.

"We will not be producing a new edition of the show this season, but it will be back for the 2016-17 season with a new host," Greenblatt told Fortune in a report.

The NBC chair also added that he enjoyed working with Trump on the reality show calling him a "lovely guy" who was also a close "collaborator."

In response to NBC seemingly dropping him, Trump took to Twitter to say that he left the reality show to run for office, and in no way did they abandon him.

Meanwhile, fans of "The Celebrity Apprentice" are starting up rumors about who could possibly replace the businessman. One name that keeps coming up is Amal Clooney, E! News reported. Amal is wife of Hollywood star George Clooney and has been known to be a staunch human rights attorney.

But as quick as rumors began, NBC execs were quick to dispel speculations saying they have not come up with an actual list of host contenders, the report added.
