China holds more than 1300 billion US treasury bonds, a record

US Department of the Treasury published latest statistical data on 16th July. This data shows China increase 25.2 billion US treasury bonds in May. In other words, China holds more than 1300 billion US treasury bonds, a record.

According to the data, it's the first time for China to hold 1315.9 billion US treasury bonds and China is still the biggest creditor nation of United States. Comparing to the data in April, China increases 25.2 billion US Dollar from1290.7 billion dollar to 1315.9 billion dollar.
From the view of the period from May 2012 to May 2013, the tendency of US treasury China holds is more increase and less decrease. Almost all the action China has is to increase bonds except decrease 4 times, especially there was a four month continuously increase since February this year.
Comparing to the data of May, 2012, China increases 151.9 billion US treasury bonds this year. And comparing to the data of 2011, China increases 68.5 billion US treasury bonds for the whole year of 2012.
As China increases US treasury bonds continuously, Japan decrease the bonds gradually for 2 months. In May, the US treasury bonds Japan holds decrease from 1112.7 billion to 1111 billion.
Some economists announced that considering the whole economic situation in the world and the situation in America, US treasury bonds is still the main invest product in the international securities market. Just from the view of safety, US treasury bonds is much better than other bonds of other country.
The government of China insists that no matter China increases or decreases US treasury bonds, it's just economical investment. There's no connection to political reasons.
