Microsoft's smart screen enterprise Surface Hub Collaboration tool has been held back and will start rolling out in January 2016.

Last Wednesday, people who had pre-ordered Surface Hub were notified that their mega-display and conference room tool won't arrive until 2016, at least four months after Microsoft had originally anticipated.

In a recent blog post by Brian Hall, the General Manager of Microsoft Surface, he informed that the roll-out schedule had been readjusted due to the strong demand rate. He also emphasized on the fact that the company was tuning its manufacturing process to prep up for a broader scale of production.

Microsoft had first announced the Surface Hub at its Windows 10 event in January 2015, claiming that the device's 84" model would support a 4K resolution display for $20,000 while the smaller 55" model would support an HD screen and would be available for $7,000, as stated by PCworld's contributor Brian Hanley Frank in his latest post. The device would also support a roster of universal applications including PowerPoint and a version of Skype that has been specifically tailored for Business and workplace collaborations.  The upcoming Office 2016 would allow the users to work together on documents in real-time basis via their new desktop apps.

As per Techno-stream's blog post, every Hub would come with two digital pens and a wireless keyboard for hassle-free interaction. The 55" model would be powered by a core i5 processor, while the 84" model would run on a Core i7 processor.  It also said that the smart-screen enterprise had grabbed the interest of various healthcare businesses, banks and financial corporations, retailers, airlines, manufacturers, schools, governments, among several others.

The Surface Hub forms an inevitable part of Windows 10. The company is pushing hard to augment its reality headgears like HoloLens and the Hub, alongside the expected PCs, tablets and smart phones to revolutionize the way in which most organizations function. The good news is that the businesses are willing to try-out and adapt to the new technology at a rate that Microsoft didn't expect. Flip side is that they'll have to wait for a little longer to try it out.
