The anticipation has gained speed with Mayim Bayalik, who plays Amy, posting some on-the-set photos with Jim Parsons, who plays Sheldon. The last season ended with Amy walking out on Sheldon after he debated over watching The Flash or celebrating the fifth anniversary of their first date.

In the last episode of season 8, Sheldon was about to propose to Amy when asked for a break during a Skype chat, leaving him with the engagement ring that he bought. With the season ending on a cliffhanger, a majority of audience have been demanding a reunion. Now, with Mayim Bayalik posting her pictures on Instagram with Jim Parsons and hinting at a reunion, audiences are eagerly waiting for season 9 premiere.

Another major twist in the season 9 premiere of The "Big Bang Theory" is the entry of Melissa Tang, the "other woman" in Leonard and Penny's love story. According to Yahoo, the Mom star will be playing the woman whom Leonard kissed on a boat in the North Sea, confessing the same to Penny right before their marriage. While Penny forgave him in the last episode, Melissa Tang's entry might just give a dent to the couple's relationship.

While Sheldon is wondering how much "break time" needed by Amy is enough before he can talk to her and Penny on the verge of calling off her marriage to Sheldon, the Howard household has its own problems. Bernadette and Howard are not only getting used to living in the home of late Mrs Wolowitz but are also trying to get Stuart out of their house. A problem they cannot solve since Stuart has turned into a permanent houseguest for them.
