"Fast & Frurious" star Dwayne Johnson takes on Disney's "Moana" as the voice of Maui a muscled demi-god covered in tattoos.

Maui plays the sidekick of a teenager named Moana and helps her in a journey of finding herself and her ancestors. Both explore the depths of the ocean and battle ocean monsters.

"Moana" was presented on Disney's D23 fan expo Friday where "The Rock" surprised fans in attendance, USA Today reported.

On stage at the fan expo, Johnson was emotional about a dream come true being with Disney.

"When I first got in this business 15 years ago, I had a goal. The goal was to be in the Disney family," he shared.

Johnson continued to describe the chracter he is playing using the adjectives "very strong", "determined", and "achingly handsome."

The actor also highlighted that the animated movie brought him back to his roots being half-Samoan whose life has also been inspired by the South Pacific which happens to be the movie's setting, the news site added.

The "San Andreas" star got no less than a standing ovation by the fans present at D23 expo.

ET Online reported on other Disney movies presented at the expo worth watching out for. These include "Gigantic" which is expected to be another version of the fairy tale Jack and the Beanstalk set in a world of giants, "Toy Story 4" which Disney revealed will focus on a love story between Woody and the girl toy Bo, and "Finding Dory" still starring Ellen DeGeneres who plays Dory.

Meanwhile, the "Fast & Furious" star has been all over the news lately for the big screen remake of the 90's TV series "Baywatch." Johnson is set to star in the movie about California lifeguards with Hollywood heartthrob Zac Efron.

Johnson also recently landed in the Forbes list of top earning Hollywood actors.
