Paperphone or E-ink Smartphone has been created by Canadian researchers from Human Media Lab of Canada's Queen's University, in collaboration with Arizona States University's Motivational Environments Research group.
It is the world's first interactive paper computer, a flexible phone made from electronic paper. It is lightweight, few millimeters thick and has a 9.5-cm long thin film with flexible E-Ink display and a flexible printed circuit that consists of resistive bend sensors to recognize different types of bending gestures for performing functions like making calls, selecting songs. It also consists of a built-in Wacom tablet that allows users to draw on its screen, making it even more paper-like. It is built from the same e-ink technology found in Amazon Kindle e-book reader, and this is bonded to flex sensors and a touch-screen that interprets drawings and text written on it, Express reported.

The PaperPhone, can store contacts, play music, send text messages, make phone calls, and work as a normal smartphone. Unlike the usual smartphones, it can conform to the shape of its user's pocket or purse, and can even be operated through bending actions. It can be bent into a cell phone, flipped at the corner to turn pages and can be written upon with a pen.
Most impressively, when not actually being operated, the PaperPhone doesn't consume electricity as per the information given by the developers, as indicated in a BBC report.
PaperPhone therefore is the best suited SmartPhone in the recent times because it can suite all weather, it is light to carry and portable. It can be bent to suit the function any one can use the pen to write messages therefore enjoyable when using it.
This is going to be the most convenient computer system ever made as it takes the paper form. It is said that it will revolutionize technology, encourage invention and bring about change in the world of communication based on its simple, portable and high sophisticated design. Everyone is restless when it comes to waiting for this type of technological invention hitting the global market and into the communication industry.
It is no doubt, the future holds greater things, things beyond anything man has ever imagined before. Who would have ever imagined, such great invention and innovation, striking the world at any point and time.
