He is finally on Weibo. EXO member Chanyeol has set up his account on the popular Chinese social media platform, though it is still a puzzle what took him so long to do that. And Lay, Chinese member of EXO-M, the Mandarin subgroup of EXO, was among the first to follow Chanyeol's Weibo account.

Chanyeol, 22, created the account on Aug. 14, according to Korea Boo. It was soon verified. The news about the singer-actor's Weibo account spread like a wildfire, resulting in 500,000 plus followers in less than a day after the announcement.
The first post was not a greeting but a four-word message dedicated to the recent tragedy in Tianjin, China. He posted: "I Pray for Tianjin."
And no one wins the big prize for guessing it right that Chanyeol did not receive a welcome message from Tao, the soon-to-officially-exit EXO-M lead rapper. There was no question of the popular South Korean idol following Tao's account, as he was the first EXO member to unfollow Tao on Instagram, which resulted in a strong reaction from the Chinese idol.
Soon after Chanyeol unfollowed Tao, the latter went on an unfollowing spree, bringing his following list to zero on Instagram. And it is very much expected that Luhan and Kris, the two Chinese members who announced their departure from EXO last year, will also ignore their former EXO mate.
EXO originally started with four Chinese members and eight Koreans. Now the group has only one active Chinese member, Lay. He continues to show his support for the group and his EXO mates.
Meanwhile, Chanyeol'd recent experience in China was not a pleasant one. He was struck with a water bottle during his concert in the country. He was hit on his leg, and according to Korea Boo, the singer-actor was seen making painful facial expressions after that. And at that time too, Lay was the first to come forward and tell EXO fans to not throw water bottles on the stage as it may hurt one of their idols.
"Please don't throw water bottles up on stage. Your oppas might get hurt by these actions," the report quoted him as saying.
