According to Realty Today, on Monday, game developers Blizzard have finally issued an official statement regarding the plans to introduce a sequel to the extremely popular multi-player game called "World of Warcraft." With rumors amongst fans giving all sorts of angles to the option of introducing the sequel, the company has decided to come out clear.
In its statement, Allen Brack, executive producer of the "World of Warcraft," said that as of now, the plans to introduce any sequel are dicey. He also cited examples of previous MMO games where sequels had ended up as failures and therefore reiterated his apprehension to confirm the possibility of a sequel.
However, this does not mean that the developers plan to shut shop on the franchisee, said reports. Brack also said that they are extremely busy working on introducing new content to the existing format to make the game even more interesting for the end user.
Recently, the makers introduced "Legion," which seems to be doing quite well. Meanwhile, another related report on Design and Trends points out that Blizzard had not always been so aggressive about "World of Warcraft."
It can be noted that the team had also confirmed working on Project "Titan" but the said videogame never saw the light of the day, simply because the team decided to abort it midway after failing to meet internal expectations.
It is interesting to note that the only game that has enjoyed a fair bit of success even in its sequel is ArenaNet's "Guild Wars 2," others have not been so lucky.
