Country singer Miranda Lambert is keeping herself occupied at the wake of her divorce with ex-husband "The Voice" coach Blake Shelton. She's turning her attention to another love - dogs.
The country singer prepares for her annual "Cause for Paws" charity event that aims to raise funds for homeless animals and a fight to end animal cruelty and homelessness across America. Lambert and her mom founded the "MuttNation Foundation" and have since worked to raise funds to help aid dogs and other pets in need.

"A lot goes into an event like this, but nothing makes Miranda and I more happy and fulfilled than seeing a rescue dog in the arms of a loving family," Mrs. Lambert told Country Fancast.
In all, the annual even has raised over $2 million with last year's run making around $600,000, the report added.
Last month, Lambert and her husband of four years announced they were getting a divorce. Since then, rumors about the reason for their split up have been all around the news, but the ex-couple have kept other break-up details as private as possible.
"This is not the future we envisioned. And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately," the couple said in a public statement.
"Aside from music, this is my biggest passion in life. I feel so passionately about helping all animals," Lambert shared in the report.
"Cause of the Paws" is slated on Sept. 18-19 at Luckenbach, Texas, with performances from a number of country singers. Proceeds will go to "MuttNation" and its projects.
Meanwhile, the country singer has also been seen going out on dates over the week, with her girl-friend Ashley Monroe that is, People reported. In an Instagram photo, Monroe posted a snap of them all glammed up with a caption "date night."
Monroe and Lambert have been known to be close friends.
