The Duchess of Cambridge was mysteriously absent from a friend's wedding, but spotted at the event were her husband William and sister Pippa Middleton.

According to Daily Mail, The Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton missed her friend's wedding in Devon, but William and her sister Pippa managed to show up at the event. News sources say that Kate has barely been seen at social events since the birth of Prince George.

Kate Middleton was supposed to turn up at the wedding of estate agent Bear Maclean and socialite Daisy Dickson in South Devon over the weekend, but the Duchess was nowhere seen.

"The names William and Catherine Wales were written on the plan, which appeared on an antique-looking mirror. They were due to sit at the top table. Kate had been expected to attend," a source said.

"No one knows why. Everyone was talking about it over breakfast the next morning. They stayed on the next day and night, too, attending lunch in the marquee together," the source added. "The plan was for everyone to go and do a river estuary swim afterwards."

In an article by The Inquisitr, it seems like Kate has been missing a lot of social gatherings since giving birth to their kids. Nobody knows the reason, but Kate simply might want to spend more time with the children. With the wedding invitations that they received, William at least managed to attend to half of them.

In an earlier report by CNN, Kate and Will proved that they put high value to their privacy especially now that they have kids to protect. The Kensington Palace released a letter addressed to the media that they will not tolerate photographers harassing Prince George by using "alarming" tactics.

"We have made the decision to discuss these issues now as the incidents are becoming more frequent and the tactics more alarming," the letter read. "It is hoped that those who pay paparazzi photographers for their images of children will be able to better understand the distressing activity around a two-year old boy that their money is fueling."
