Apple has decided to shift focus from iPad Air 3 in order to focus better on the iPad mini 4, on the basis of the revealation by manufacturing partner Foxconn. 

According to a report on Tech Times, Apple is most likely to skip releasing its coveted iPad Air 3 this year. Previously it was rumoured that the device would hit markets in fall this year. But the new report points out that Apple will divert its energies towards improving the iPad mini 4 and therefore let the launch of iPad Air 3 take backseat. It is also being rumoured that the update for iPad mini will not be anything major. The report goes on to point that of late Apple has been experiencing certain stumble blocks and seems to be worried that it might end up losing customer loyalty to a certain extent.

Quoting examples of the recent cases when the Apple watch failed to live up to the hype that it had created prior to its launch as well as Taylor Swift's complaint about the company's payment policy for Apple music, the report cites the lack of consumer interest as one of the major reasons for the company to rethink its strategies. Due to the constantly dwindling interest, Apple has announced plans to slow down the development and delay the release schedule of its coveted phablet devices to focus better on improving services. This will be the first time that Apple chooses to break the trend of releasing the new iPad annually, something that it has religiously done ever since the launch of the first gadget. As of now, there is no official confirmation in this regard from the company.

Another report on IT Pro said that the manufacturer Foxconn (with whom Apple works for manufacturing its devices ) had been ordered to focus on other devices in order to meet the customer demands. It is from here that the rumours seem to have originated.
