As part of its mission to provide end users with better connectivity, Google is working on its new wireless router called OnHub, which pre-orders have already started on Google's online portal and on few other stores.

While OnHub is yet to be launched in markets officially, it is already available for pre-orders this week. The router, which will be priced at $199, is being called smart because it intelligently manages your home network, minimizes the cases of congestion to quite an extent and is programmed to allot the Wi-Fi bandwidth amongst devices according to their needs.
It is said that the Wi-Fi router will be able to reliably and strongly protect devices with passwords; however, the users have the option to share these passwords with trusted people via an application. Google developed the device, in association with TP-Link - a small time company more focused on manufacturing hardwares as opposed to the home network devices. The router is also reportedly equipped with Bluetooth and Zigbee, which will enable the router to identify devices and even talk to them to understand their consumption.
Another report on Toronto Sun claims that the router will be able to adapt to the ever evolving demands of the customers more easily because it is programmed to update its software from time to time. It is believed that the connection will allow devices to talk to each other using Weave.
Similar to Amazon's Echo Smart speaker, this device is available in black and blue colors. Additionally, it comes with a feature where the color of the device changes in accordance to the status of its connectivity.
Google says that improving the aesthetic appeal of the router will make it easier for the users to place it out in the open, which in turn, will enable them to enjoy better connectivity.
