Season 4 left viewers with a confusing cliffhanger. Season 5 will follow up from the season 4 finale, but this time Carrie is in a new city that is Berlin, Germany. She has been separated from the CIA and is no more in the intelligence business.
Since, the earlier four seasons displayed the dedication of Carrie for the department (CIA), the idea of her separating from the league is itself stimulating. Hence, the story seems very different and thriving in this sense, but what has not changed in the plot is the emphasis on covering the delicate issues.
In the last four seasons the main focus of the story was the ongoing issue between the US and the Middle East. So, what should fans expect in this season? Well, speaking at the annual Television Critics Association event, Showtime president David Nevins gave the reporters some hints about the story of the new season. He said that the upcoming season will address the current issues of the world's political landscape. He also mentioned that the political drama will include ISIS as it is a fresh and current issue.
According to Nevins the first episode of "Homeland" will be about Russia and Putin's activities. Indeed, the issue that is hot in current affairs, when addressed through soaps and Operas gains rapid attention. Besides, it becomes very much responsible for building up the image of the political or social affair into the mind of the audience. So in other words, fans should hold on tight the upcoming season of the show will be full of excitement and will take them on a roller coaster ride.
