More important, and probably long overdue, is the removal of the Charms Bar on the user interface, a controversial feature on Windows 8.

The Charms Bar is located at the right side of the screen but users have to hover their cursor on that side to locate it. It's an overlay that accesses search, share, the Start screen, hardware devices and settings.

According to Winbeta, it's still not clear if Microsoft will also remove the Charms Bar on tablets.
What is certain is that the Charms Bar will be completely removed from desktops.

Windows Threshold is currently in its Alpha stage that will see a lot of changes being made.

Probably the main reason for this user interface change is to make the operating system more user friendly to mouse and keyboard users.

Microsoft will also add virtual desktops to Threshold, which is expected in spring 2015.

Other operating systems such as Apple's OS X and Ubuntu have already support for virtual desktops so users can seamlessly shift between apps and groups of apps.
