The television series "Game of Thrones" will finish on television much before the book series. George R. R. Martin is now resigned to his fact and is not worried about it anymore.

The last book "A Dance of Dragons" was released in 2011, and since then, fans have been waiting patiently for "The Winds of Winter." Till date, there is no confirmed release date for the book as yet. Earlier there were rumors that Martin had finished writing the book and it may be released by the year end but in light of any conclusive evidence, it seems unlikely.

In fact, it seems all the more probable that the "Game of Thrones" Season 6 may start much before "The Winds of Winter" sees the light of the day. This fact was upsetting to the author for quite a while as he was focused on to finishing the book. In this regard he had also canceled numerous public appearances and had even refused to write the script for one episode of "Game of Thrones" Season 5.

According to Inquistr, he said that, "The show is moving forward like a locomotive, or sometimes a jet locomotive. They're writing 60-page scripts, I'm writing 1,500-page novels. So who the hell knows? There was a period where I was worried about that, then I said, to hell with that. Worrying about it isn't going to change it one way or another."

He added that, "I still sit down at the typewriter, and I have to write the next scene and the next sentence... I'm just going to tell my story, and they're telling their story and adapting my books, and we shall see."

He seems to have made his peace with the fact that the book will take awhile and nothing can change this fact, according to  Senitel Republic.
