Reliable sources have confirmed that boy group "One Direction" is taking an indefinite time off as a group to pursue their personal projects. The extended hiatus beginning March next year will at least last for a whole year.
In a report by People, it confirms that the four-male singing group has come to a "mutual agreement" to go on a year-long break.

Though Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan are expected to release their fifth album before year end, they will unfortunately not go on tour for it due to their decision. They will continue promotions until Feb. and that's it for the moment, the report added.
It was in March last year when one of their members, Zayn Malik, left the group and the shortly signed a contract to pursue a solo career.
However, another source points out that they are only going on a break and are by no means disbanding as they definitely plan to still work together in the future, E! News reported.
"They are taking a hiatus so they can work on individual projects for a while but they are not splitting up," the source told the entertainment site.
Just a few days ago, One Direction released their latest music video for their single "Drag Me Down." The originally five-male group was first discovered in the talent search show "X Factor" and has since drawn hordes of fans globally.
"They are great friends and fully support one another. They are very aware that they are able to work on their own stuff as well as remain together," the source added.
But the confirmed reports of 1D's hiatus did not sit well with their fans. Many of whom took to social media expressing their grief.
Some swore they would never be "happy again" if and when the group really splits, another one says she can't sleep and stop crying over the news, while another says 1D just ruined her life.
