Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott condemned the brutality of the Islamic State after a photo of seven-year-old boy holding up the decapitated head of a Syrian soldier went viral online.
The child, wearing the typical shirt, short, and cap ensemble, was raised in a suburban community in Sydney.

He is believed to be the son of Australian jihadist Khaled Sharrouf who posted the photo on his Twitter account. Seemingly proud of the gruesome sight, he even captioned the photo 'That's my boy.'
The photo was taken in the city of Raqa in north Syria by the boy's Australian father who is known as a convicted terrorist after he fled to Syria last month and joined the IS.
The horrifying photos show that the severed heads were already blackened and bloated, indicating that the Syrian victim had been dead for several weeks prior to the photo shoot.
Sharrouf is wanted for crimes related to terrorism committed while he was in Iraq and Syria.
PM Abbott commented on the shocking image in an announcement of Australia's aid to thousands of Iraqi civilians in areas besieged by the militants. The help might be given later this week.
He said that the photo was proof of "hideous atrocities" the terrorist group was capable of and how 'barbaric' they really are.
Director Greg Barton of the Monash University Global Terrorism Research Centre cited that there is a big possibility that the children of these terrorists would follow the examples set by their fathers.
Other photos of Sharrouf displayed him with all of his children, all aged below ten, in full battle gear complete with machine guns.
Footages from the IS shows other children at least nine years old being trained to pick up weapons and coached to kill as the newly founded 'state' prepares them to rid the world of 'infidels.'
