According to Tech Firstpost, the new Snapdragon 820 will allow mobile phones to click pictures like a DSLR camera. A related post on Qualcomm's official blog also confirmed that the latest versions of the Qualcomm Adreno GPU and Qualcomm Spectra camera ISP (image signal processor) have been designed to improve the performance, power efficiency, and user experience advances in all the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon processors.

The blog says that Adreno 530 is programed to deliver a 40 percent improvement in graphics performance and computing, as compared to its predecessor Adreno 430. The new processor also adds a hybrid focus feature that will allow users to click images like a pro. Though there are not much details revealed, the new processor is expected to have the next generation computational photography experience to the end user. Devices with this new processor are expected to arrive in markets by early next year.
The Next Web confirms that Qualcomm highlighted the developments of its Snapdragon 820 chip at the recently concluded SIGGRAPH 2015. Tim Leland, vice president of product management for Qualcomm, said that the core purpose of this new processor was to present the end user with enhanced visual processing abilities. He also added that the new developments are going to help meet the futuristic demands of the end users computational photography, computer vision, virtual reality and photo-realistic graphics.
The latest offering by Qualcomm is expected to contribute towards refreshing its mid-range and entry level mobile chipset lineup and address the evolving customer demands in a better way. Phones featuring this chipset in the future will be 4G LTE capable.
