According to a report on iDigital Trends, George R R Martin, the author of "A song of ice and fire", the book that is the inspiration of the extremely popular TV series "Game of Thrones", has said that he has overcome the period where the fear of the TV series progressing faster than the book would affect its fan following. At the writers convention in Wash, Martin said that the next and sixth book in the series called "Winds of Winter" will be released at the time when it is complete. Even if the TV series ends before the book arrives, the author has said that it will not make a difference to him indicating that he is not willing to compromise on the creative process.
Martin gave this statement during a quick round of Questions & Answers at the convention. This means that the author will not speed up the creative process to release the book before time. Clarifying his stand, Martin reassured the fans that the book and the show should be treated as two distinct entities. Adding further, Martin said that the show was progressing at a fast pace with more than sixty pages being written per script. However, for him the process is different as he has to complete a 1500 pages novel.Though he did not delve into the details, he said that the book would not be inspired by the TV series.
While the writer confessed that he is influenced by Tolkien, the extent to which the influence will be seen in the upcoming book is not clear. Meanwhile in another related report on News Everyday, it was revealed that amongst the many theories doing the rounds regarding the plot of "Winds of Winter", the newest theory says that the White Walkers are most likely to bring down the Wall in the next series.
