Japanese gaming console maker Sony has already started work on the next model of the PlayStation. The company plans to replace PS4 with PlayStation 5 citing reasons that the existing console is not capable to meet the futuristic demands of the gaming community. PS5 will also allow Sony to include more functions and features in its video game offerings as compared to the PS4.

According to Value Walk, rumors floating in the gaming community indicates that Sony Corporation is already working on introducing the PlayStation 5 in the foreseeable future, in spite of the PS4 doing so well.

The PS4 has been very popular to the gaming community and is all set to overtake Microsoft Corporation's XBox One; however, Sony is still keen to replace it with the PlayStation 5. The report goes on to explain that even Sony is concerned that the PS4 may not be able to meet the ever evolving demands of the gaming community, especially as it races to a more technology dominated era.

For instance, running games in 4K resolution is reportedly a norm now, but achieving this on the PS4 or even XBox One is remotely impossible. Though theoretically it might seem doable, practically it is impossible, said reports. Report claims that the PS4 lacks processing power to do so, while XBox One was struggling with games in 1080 pixels resolution which would be even more difficult.

According to reports, it is said that PlayStation 5 is inspired by the progress of virtual reality, which speculations point out that a release date of 2017 is expected.

In addition to all console changes, even Microsoft is working on a newly improved XBox One.

Both improved XBox One and PS5 will be part of the ninth generation gaming console.

Meanwhile, another report on Tech Radar claims that the PlayStation 5 could be the cheapest game console ever. The reason for this is being attributed to the future of gaming which is expected to rely heavily on software, services and super-fast internet connections.
