He stated the he would appreciate Metallica if ever they invited him to rejoin, but would turn down the invitation.

Dave Mustaine was the first ever lead guitarist of Thrash Metal's Big 4 band, Metallica. This makes him one of the co-founding members of Metallica and the band would be different in the first place without him. The only downside is that during his early years in Metallica, Mustaine was a pretty wild guy and would have fights with some of his bandmates when he got drunk. This was the reason he got fired from Metallica in 1983, but it was also this event that made him create his own metal band, Megadeth, which would also be one of thrash metal's Big 4 bands.

On his Twitter's question and answer, Dave also avoided a fan's question about collaborating or writing a song with James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich of Metallica answering "nice try." Also when asked about how he would describe Lars Ulrich, drummer of Metallica whom he had a difficult time getting along with, in a single word he replied "Friend?".

Mustaine also discussed about the recent changes of the line-up of Megadeth and stated that the change was necessary for the good of the band during his interview with New York's The Leader. He also added that the two replacement members, Chris Adler of Lamb of God and Kiko Loureiro of Angra have been doing great and it's up to the fans to decide if the the band still sounds great when they would hear the new album.

The new album, which is the 15th studio album of Megadeth, will not feature Shawn Drover and Chris Broderick and will be released later this year.
