As the billion-dollar game Clash of Clans (CoC) celebrates its third anniversary, enthusiasts are now looking forward to the first ever ClashCon on October 24 in Helsinki, Finland.

This event aims to gather ardent players from the global Clash communities to celebrate three years of unprecedented success and watch top clans complete in a global tournament. Top "YouTubers" and "Clashers" are also expected to grace the occasion and extend demos to a live audience.

ClashCon will be held at the Messukeskus Expo and Convention Centre. Ticket sells for €99 EUR each, which will guarantee an attendee entrance to the "Clash Universe," food and beverages, Clash loots, Clash workshop, meet and greet with famed masters of the game, and passes for contests.

"Supercell" launched the freemium mobile massively multiplayer online (MMO) game for iOS in 2012. A year later, "Clash of Clans" was released for Google Play, and since then, the game has consistently topped the mobile gaming charts.

Early this year, Wall Street Journal reported that "Clash of Clans" has propelled "Supercell's" revenue to a total of $1.7 billion in 2014.

In speaking with the spectators of this year's Game Developers Conference, game developer Jonas Collaros mentioned that the secret sauce in their success is the principle to make players enjoy the game for free.

Steve Brownlie of Inquisitr provided more insight about "Clash of Clans" feat and said, "It turns out that the secret of Clash of Clans' success might be no secret at all. Clash of Clans, instead, is a demonstration of what can be achieved through a combination of smart marketing, consistent testing, and better execution than competitors of tried-and-tested core gameplay elements."

While it has set the bar high for the mobile gaming industry, the studio continues to provide upgrades and refresh "Clash of Clans" every now and then. In fact, the game has received over 24 updates since it first hit the shelves three years ago.

Recent optional game updates brought improvements on the responsiveness in troop selection while in the heat of a battle. These are now available in the App Store and Google Play.
