"Homeland" Season 4 Cast Members Speak Up: What's New, Who's Out, and Who Will Return

In a recent photo shoot and interview with the cast of "Homeland", Claire Danes who stars as Carrie on the show along with Mandy Patinkin (Saul) and Nazanin Boniadi (Fara) hinted at what is coming on the fourth season.
In a behind-the-scenes video posted by TVLine last Friday, Boniadi claimed that every character will be going "in different directions".

"It's going to be exciting to see where that goes", the actress said.
This has been quite an unexpected change as all previous seasons of "Homeland" had most of the characters being grouped at Langley.
The Showtime series has also transferred its main filming location to Cape Town in South Africa, which is sought to be used as Middle East as well.
According to Danes, the storyline sets her character, Carrie, in Afghanistan and Pakistan as she begins with her new tasks as Station Chief.
When asked about what will be happening next to his and the others' characters, Patinkin does not prefer to know. Just like all viewers, the Emmy award winner admits to taking part in the guessing game while also adding, "I love being wrong."
Moving on from its final episode in season three, the series is expected to go ahead without Damian Lewis who played a chief character, Nicholas Brody, in the past three seasons and was betrayed by the Central Intelligence Agency by letting him be hanged.
The audience will not be seeing any other member of the Brody family as well, such as Brody's wife Jessica played by the Brazilian-American actress Morena Baccarin and daughter Dana played by Morgan Saylor.
Contrary to such expectations, showrunner Alex Gansa recently told Entertainment Weekly that Lewis may be coming back to the upcoming season of "Homeland" despite his upsetting departure.
"He was such a significant part of Carrie's life that just to drop him completely would feel wrong, because Carrie is grieving for his loss", Gansa said.
The remaining cast members, including Danes and Patinkin, will be joined by Suraj Sharma from "Life of Pi" who will play a Pakistani medical student who may or may not be an enemy for the U.S. government.
"Homeland" Season 4 will premiere on October 5 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime.
