The last season ended with a bang, leaving the audience craving for more. Sheldon has a ring! Leonard and Penny are going to get married Vegas style! Could it get any more exciting? Unfortunately, fans will have to wait to see what happens next like it is the case with every other series. The wait is hard to bear, but what has to come makes it worth the wait.

There is no doubt that the long running hit sitcom, the "Big Bang Theory (BBT)" has successfully completed eight seasons. The series have gathered massive fan following around the globe. It was a preferred choice of audience as the show is hilarious with colorful characters. Most importantly, the genius snob Dr Sheldon Copper played by Jim Parson made the series more appealing.

The character of Dr Sheldon adds to the interest of the audience because of his distinct attribute. This Ph.D not only has knowledge of his particular field, but seems to know about almost each and everything. What makes the series interesting and fun to watch is the way the character belittles others with his knowledge. Sarcasm isn't his strong suit and he takes it literally unless it is pointed out by his friends.

The genius does have his drawbacks, like little does he know about socializing. So it is not a shock that it took him years before he actually entered a relationship with a Neuro scientist, Amy, though the relationship progress was pretty much at a snail's speed. Season 8 however, ended with Sheldon planning on taking it to the next level.

As far as the rest of the gang is concerned (Leonard, Howard, and Raj) they are as nerdy as they could be. Pretty much pathetic at socializing as well but at least they try. They are extremely into comics and superheroes. Another interesting angle of the show is Penny (Kaley Cuoco), an aspiring actress who moved from Nebraska to make it big in Hollywood but eventually lands into sales. She lives across the hall from Leonard and Sheldon and is quite a catch. Although Sheldon is the protagonist of the show the other characters complement him and make the show a hit.

As anticipated and also hinted by the 29 year old, Kaley, the ninth season is off to a good start. Fans expect to see further development in Penny and Leonard's relationship (they were engaged and on their to Las Vegas). Kaley did quote about the on screen couple "Between Leonard and Penny all the dreams came true for me". The show returns to CBS on Monday, Sept. 21.
