In a turn of events for game creator Invader Games, their development of the "Resident Evil 2 Reborn" has been halted by Capcom saying, a "Resident Evil 2" is underway.

According to IGN, though it may seem to be a very disappointing event, Invader Games is still thankful that Capcom invited them to discuss the matter at hand. Despite making the necessary development such as modern graphics and mechanics for a new game play, Capcom still shutdown the development of the video game. According to Invader Games, Capcom has made the necessary communications with them before the cancellation was made publicly.

According to TechTimes, Capcom was not all insensitive about the arrangement; in fact, they asked Invader Games for a meeting not only to discuss the cancellation but also to consider their views and ideas about the game. In their official statement, Invader Games said that they are more than happy to see Capcom giving some thoughts on the beloved "Resident Evil 2" and that they are the perfect team to work on what is originally theirs. They also said that they are proud of the level of development they have made for "Resident Evil 2 Reborn" and the support from fans, but most of all, the acknowledgement from Capcom which made them realize the intensity of the work they have done.

While the situation has led to Capcom cancelling the "Resident Evil 2 Reborn," which is currently being developed by Invader Games, nothing is reportedly lost in the process as fans are assured of a "Resident Evil 2" in the future, Capcom can have the copyright on the game and Invader Games despite their loss, gained the trust of Capcom when it comes to ideas about the video game.

"Resident Evil 2 Reborn" has already released a trailer few months ago and it has significantly raised the number of fans wanting to get a hand of the game, until Capcom shut them down. Invader Games, on the other hand, has considered Capcom's consideration of their ideas as one of their biggest achievement yet.
