Huang Qiusheng, a famous Hong Kong movie star, posted on Chinese twitter that " more than half of Chinese can't understand my traditional Chinese characters. It's sad the traditional Chinese culture is extinct."

Traditional Chinese characters are a form of Chinese in a specific time. But as the reform of Chinese characters, Chinese are using simplified Chinese characters nowadays. In the discussion of language policy conference, the capital of Taiwan said that we should set traditional Chinese characters as the correct form of Chinese.

Lee Tong-hao said less and less people using traditional Chinese characters now, but actually traditional Chinese characters are the essence of Chinese culture. And he also points out that simplified Chinese characters destroy the Chinese culture.

In mainland, Fang Zhouzi published an essay to explain the historical meaning of changing Chinese characters to simplified one. Simplified Chinese characters just make everything simple but won't create new characters.

There is also a discussion between citizens online. Some people think simplified Chinese characters can't show the meaning of the characters such as there's a heart in the traditional "Love" but not exist in the simplified "Love". On the other hand, some people think simplified is the right tendency of history.
