With the news that British boyband One Direction is disbanding and focusing on their solo careers for a while, it is reported that Sony Music is on the bid to win over Harry Styles.

According to Hollywood Life, One Direction has announced that they will be taking a break after the release of their fifth album. Of course, One Direction fans are certainly not happy about the news. Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson have all cleared issues that they are disbanding. They assured their fans that they are not splitting up but will be taking a break in 2016.

Ironically, Harry Styles hasn't said anything. Billboard reported that Sony wants to sign Harry Styles for a possible solo deal. A source claimed that they want to secure Harry since he is the most famous member of the band, also describing the singer as a "global superstar."

"Harry has always been One Direction's most popular member and it's obvious that we want to secure him - he's a global superstar," the insider said. "Zayn will get to release an album first, as he left the band earlier, but the most excitement is about what Harry is going to do. Everyone wants to know what his solo material will sound like, there's also a lot of pressure to get it right."

Over the weekend a spokesperson of One Direction refused to comment on the rumor. The band is still on tour till Oct, and will release their fifth album in Nov.

"No discussions about solo deals are happening with any members of One Direction currently," a representative said. "Sony are fully committed to all of One Direction and are looking forward to the release of the group's new album."

The 21-year-old heartthrob is currently signed to Simon Cowell's label Syco, Daily Mail reported. In the event that Harry would release his solo album next year, he will be in direct competition of his former bandmate Zayn Malik who chose to go solo with his music career.

Apart from his music career, Harry is also said to be making it to Hollywood. Harvey Weinstein said that there would be no question that the singer will eventually enter the movie business. Styles was allegedly offered a role but he had to turn it down because he had to do the tour.
